The IPD Graphics team traveled to fabulous Las Vegas this past weekend to participate in Grindco Entertainment’s H2X Indoor Jet Ski Race and Watersports Show. This event was the first of its kind, the South Point Hotel and Casino was transformed into an indoor aquatic playground by bringing in 600,000 gallons of reclaimable water to create the world’s largest indoor pool.

The event featured professional jet ski riders racing in head-to-head supercross style races, jaw-dropping freestyle acts, wakeboarders flipping and spinning, and costumed fire performers. The 125 ft by 200 ft indoor pool was a challenge for even the most experienced jet ski rider. The closed-in, tight course made for extreme wake and demanding turns for all the racers. The races were fast-paced, filled with many “close-calls,” and exciting finishes. IPD Graphics CEO, Casey Mauldin and his Yamaha Waveblaster took 1st place overall after racing in some high energy, intense matches.

The IPD Graphics team was out in full force during the event passing out flyers and candy to make sure everyone knows about our high-performance, race-inspired jet ski graphic kits. Sponsored riders Frank Davis and Ryan Jones stopped by the booth to show their support for the company, the team, and the entire event. Spectators marveled at Casey’s Kawasaki 800SXR that was on display and admired his signature black and gold jet ski decal kit. IPD Graphics is proud to say the both the event and the booth were successful. We are extremely appreciative to have been a part of this one-of-a-kind jet ski event and all of us are excited to see what Grindco Entertainment has in store next.

PWC Racing made its return to Parker, Arizona on April 29th for the first leg of the 2011 APBA Racing Triple Crown of Watercross, which will also make its way to Myrtle Beach for the APBA Sun Fun Surf National Championship and ending with the APBA Watercross Nationals. The Parker event was hosted and sponsored by The Bluewater Resort and Casino.

It was a cold and windy race weekend, which was a stray away from the usual hot May weather that Parker, Arizona is used to having. The windy conditions made the challenging Colorado river water even more choppy and difficult to maneuver, which tested even the most experienced racer. With a total of 118 entries and roughly 70 racers, the weekend was filled with top notch racing and explosive freestyle aerobatics. With a new race director, a new format of racing, and plenty of top racers this year’s APBA West Coast Nationals Watercross Triple Crown Event was one not to miss.

Due to the recent decline in race entries, event Director Dave “Looter” Hardenburger switched up this race inquite a few ways in order to spice up the sport and turn the excitement level up a few notches for all the bystanders. To make things novel for the racers, Dave channeled 1990s jet ski racing and designed the course to be super tight and to the right, a format that has not been seen in over 10 years. For the viewers, Dave eliminated red flag starts. This kept the races moving along and created a quick paced, high energy event which was thrilling to the viewers and both demanding and new for the riders.

The IPD Graphics Race Team definitely made a splash in Parker, Arizona. Casey Mauldin, CEO and fearless leader of the IPD Graphics team, took 1st place in the highly buzzed about, and most competitive, Sport Spec class. New to the racing scene, Mark Gomez took 1st in Novice Ski Limited, 3rd in Novice Ski Stock Spec, and 4th in Freestyle. IPD Graphics would also like to thank our other sponsored riders, Don Bedford, Ryan Jones, and Frank Davis for coming out and representing IPD Graphics.

Overall, the entire weekend was a success and the IPD Graphics team is extremely thankful to have been a part ofthis new jet ski racing experience. Visit our photo gallery to browse all the pictures from race weekend, read up on the latest IPD Graphics news, and pick up a new graphic kit so that your jet ski is ready for the next big race.

Image Pro Design is getting ready for the new 2009 APBA Sport Spec Class with the build up of our 1993 Yamaha Wave Blaster. This B1 will be built for our Team Rider Casey Mauldin with intentions of taking home a championship in the Sport Spec Class. Casey has won the Region 1 CT Sports Series Championship, the Inside Line Series Championship, and the California State Championships in Sport Limited and Modified class…..all in the same year.

The hull of our Wave Blaster will remain stock with the exception of a fresh paint job from Pro Collision, Jettrim Mats, and a brand new custom Jettrim Seat Cover to go over the shaved stock seat. When we looked for a handling package to develop with the B1, we worked closely with renowned jet ski fabricator Chris Hagest of ProWatercraft.com. The idea behind the handling package of our APBA Sport Spec Class Blaster was to not only be able to steer the ski around the course, but to have total control of the ski while unleashing the power that a Sport Spec ski will have under the hood. Chris and Casey spent countless hours at the waters edge perfecting the package to Casey’s high standards. Surprisingly enough, Chris Hagest did not have to sacrifice much speed to capitalize on the excellent handling of the B1 hull. Common problems that the old B1 hull design carried were looked at closely by Hagest, and were ironed out in his newest designed sponsons for the Yamaha Wave Blaster

For a motor package, Image Pro Design did not hold anything back when building this setup. Our mindset was clear and straight forward: Build a motor to run in the front of the pack, and get there fast. Image Pro decided on a “Limited” type setup with all the right modifications in the right places. For exhaust we stuck with the proven Factory Pipe B Pipe setup along with a Factory Pipe Water Box. Paired with a R&D head, Full Spectrum Carbs, and Boyesen Reed Valves this Blaster was going to be leaving the gate hard.

We look forward to an exciting season in Region 1 & 2 for the APBA Sport Spec class with Casey Mauldin piloting our newest build to a championship for Region 1.
